Early Sleep?

The Power of Perception

Every 4th Tuesday of the month is creative minitries night for Riverview's creative teams (ie. video, hospitality, audio, choir, musicians, etc.) where you receive input rather than giving. This is very important particularly for volunteers who often don't have time to worship and/or listen to the weekend message because they're volunteering.

Last night, Adam Meredith, the head of the whole creative minitries spoke about the power of perception. The message has given me much needed refreshment and encouragement after a month of volunteering.

These are the main points:
  • Enemies want to attack our perception, not our annointing or gifts because they can't touch God's annointing
  • If we see the invisible, God can do the impossible! (ie. don't limit God by our own perception of what He can do, otherwise you'd have lower expection)
  • Don't perceive yourself according to other people's perception - dare to be unique and use your uniqueness to make a difference!
  • Ask God to guard your perception
  • You need to realise that it's the Father's job to create perception, not ours!
  • The power of choice will determine the way cause perception is there already

After-Sales Service

My aunt has a problem with her 2.5 year old Renault and had a conversation over the phone with Renault service department in Osborne Park (she bought the car in Osborne Park). Because they're fully booked, they claimed that it's not possible just to take a look at the car. They even sent her to the other Renault dealership service dept. in Melville. The other dealership service dept. is also fully booked and can't have the service done right away, but they're willing to check the car to provide recommendation.

Experienced a problem as well about 5 years ago when my aunt owned a Hyundai. The car was sent for a regular service to Mountway Hyundai, Melville in an excellent working condition. When I picked up the car in the afternoon, the alarm system wasn't working at all and the service dept. claimed that it was my fault. They didn't ask their mechanics about the problem or what could've cause it. No refund or reimbursement for the damage and they tried to send me away. I had to go to the alarm company in Osborne Park to fix it (and pay the cost myself).

I have a 5 year old Honda Accord. Bought it from Prestige Honda, Melville and has been serviced regularly there as well. The service department is not perfect, but they tried their best to address your problem (both the reception and the mechanics). They really do know what their doing and will try to explain as simple as possible. No wonder they've been awarded the best in service and overall excellence for 6 years in a row.

Based on my experience, I know from which dealership I will buy and service my car. By the way, this is just an information if you're considering to buy a car. You're welcome to go to anywhere you want to have your car serviced.

Profile of Pope Benedict XVI

You can see the profile of Pope Benedict XVI on this link.

New Pope

A new Pope has been chosen. Formerly known as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, he's now known as Pope Benedict XVI.

Many people think that Pope Benedict XVI is a conservative man who's perfect to carry on the late Pope John Paul II's legacy & bring about better and fresh future for catholic churches, thus the reason for most of the cardinals to elect him. I'm, for one, certainly hope that he can do his job quite well.

7th Anniversary of Dating

25th April 05 will mark my 7 years relationship with Dona. We're getting married in 4th September 05. She gave me an early present of a solar-powered Casio analog wrist watch with digital read-out on the half bottom end of the watch background. I wonder what can I give her as this is going to be our last anniversary as singles.

Xbox Cord Replacement

I've just ordered free cord replacement for my xbox. This is important for any xbox manufactured before 2004 due to faulty that could cause damage to the console itself or even start a fire. Go to www.xbox.com for more details about free cord replacement program from Microsoft.

Fuel

Fuel price has hit all time high in Australia. Perth's petrol price today is $1.13 per litre (for regular unleaded). Premium unleaded will cost 7-8 cents more than regular unleaded.

I'm guessing that more cars are getting fitted with LPG system and more sales for hybrid cars by Toyota & Honda.

The Funeral of Pope John Paul II

I missed the live broadcast of the funeral, however I got to watch the replay.

The coffin containing the body of Pope John Paul II has been laid to rest in the crypt under St. Peter's Basilica, in the same spot believed to contain the remains of Peter, the apostle chosen by Jesus to found His church almost 2000 years ago.

I wonder how the crypt really look like. I also wonder how the place under St. Peter's Basilica used as the final resting place for other Popes before Pope John Paul II.

Record Cold

Today's max. temp. in Perth 15C, the coldest April in 20 years. Surprisingly, it was 40C last week. Experts are quite amazed and hasn't been able to explain the extreme changes in weather.

It's also been raining since yesterday. Been waiting for this moment since it's quite rare to happen in Perth. Another reason is most probably because Perth being a desert land.
