Back From A Very Long Break + I'm Married Now!
Hi everyone! It's been a few months since my last entry due to my wedding preparations + the wedding day itself + a few things that happened after the wedding...
Oh yeah, I'm married now!
Me & Dona is now officially husband & wife since Sunday, 4th September 2005. The day was technically 98% perfect, but we enjoyed the whole day very much and considered it 100% perfect. We believe God blessed us and was involved in every part of the day. Wouldn't ask for anything more...
The ceremony was held in a church close to my home in Surabaya, Indonesia at 11am (GMT +7). It was a beautiful ceremony and took about an hour, continuing to family photo sessions 1pm, retouch the make-up 3pm, cin-ciu 5pm, and the reception 7pm.
By the way, cin-ciu (or pai-ciu, etc.) is a Chinese tradition where the bride & groom ask for blessing from older people in the family (ie. parents, aunties & uncles, brothers, sisters, etc.). In return, the newlyweds are given money, jewellery, etc. as a symbol of their blessing and supports.
The Reception was held in Shangri-La Hotel Grand Ballroom, Surabaya. The place was beautifully decorated with real grapes (total around 4kg) and real flowers. The setting was a garden, inspired by Araluen Park in WA. By the way, Araluen is where me & Dona first notice each other during our excursion in 1997.
